Welcome to new members of AITO
Welcome to Alicia Wallace, Kate Crockett and Tricia Howard all from Richmond Valley Tourism at Casino in the North Rivers of NSW.
Alicia is the Visitors Services Coordinator, Kate is the Tourism Systems Operator and Tricia is the Tourism Communications and Development Officer. What a team !
From the rolling hills and national parks to the Pacific Ocean it is no wonder that Richmond valley is so popular. A valley of surprises, truly.

New Members of AITO
Welcome to Jessica Squires of Moree who has joined AITO. Jessica is a Trainee Tourism Officer for Moree Tourism Inc.
And welcome to Ashley McDonald of Moree who has also joined AITO. Ashley is the Tourism Officer at Moree Tourism Inc.
Moree is one of the largest Local Government Areas in NSW on the border with Queensland. It proudly claims to be the spa capital of Australia.
Unlike most other inland and coastal centres across Australia, Moree has an abundance of water from both the Gwydir and Mehi Rivers and groundwater reserves. Moree has no restrictions and has a guaranteed long term supply of water, a key attraction for industry and lifestyle.
Moree Hot Artesian Pool Complex (Spa Baths) is Moree’s major and most famous tourist attraction. Feeling weary from your life’s trials or just looking for a place to relax? Maybe Kevin 07 could use some of Moree’s therapy today.

Two old mates announce their retirements.
Brian Hardiman
Long time AITO member and CEO of the Tourism Industry Council of NSW, (TICNSW), Brian Hardiman, is retiring as from the 28th May 2010.
Brian will be taking a wealth of industry knowledge with him when he retires having had experience with TICNSW, as a Tourism Manager and as a manager of tourism businesses including a South Coast Tourist Attraction going back to when I first met him in 1982.
Brian went on from strength to strength, the Tourist attraction eventually closed.
They should have paid Brian more money. But then again, exceeding the salary cap has never been an issue for people working in our industry.
Best of luck old mate and enjoy your retirement.
An Invitation is extended to you and any of Brian’s industry colleagues to attend a farewell to Brian – Thursday 27 May at 4.30pm in the AFTA Boardroom.
Drinks and Nibbles.
Please let us know if you are available and we look forward to seeing you all there to give Brian a good send-off.
Best regards

Les Moulds
Long Time AITO member and long time Secretary of AITO, Les Moulds has announced his retirement from his position as Tourism Manager, Inverell. Les has been there forever and has been a real stalwart of the Tourism Industry. On top of that Les has an information network that is second to none. If you want to find out what was going on in our industry, you only have to ask Les.
In typical fashion Les has let the world know by having his Council advertise his position (see below). However, rest assured, Les will be “doing” the Brisbane Caravan and Camping Show in June and possibly staying for a couple of months after that.
Les and Yvonne are currently overseas doing a bit of pre-retirement travelling. Once they retire they will probably do a lot more.
Best of luck Les and Yvonne and enjoy your retirement.

Welcome to 2 new members – both from the beautiful South Coast of NSW
Samantha Smith, Tourism and Marketing Manager with Sapphire Coast Tourism located at Bega (where all the cheese comes from of course)
Sally Tozer, Visitor Services Manager with Kiama Tourism Located at Blow Hole Point Kiama.
Welcome ladies to AITO. You have joined a network of people across Australia who communicate by e-mail and never see each other from one year to the next. It is not that we are a lonely bunch, just the opposite. We are just too busy to leave our own patch and too busy inviting everybody else to have a good time.

Retirement of John Pearson
After 54 years of the shoulder to the wheel, long time AITO Member John Pearson will be retiring on the 31st March 2010. He and Bette will spend the next year trying to forget about home hosting and farm stay visits as they cruise around visiting "many spots in Oz". They will not have an e-mail address.
All the best John and Bette. You have earned your retirement and such a welcome relief from the never ending e-mails. Enjoy being tourists for a change.
