Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of the Australian Institute of Tourism Officers held on Thursday the 21st February 2008

Meeting opened 0900 21st February 2008.

The reports from the President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Auditor were all been circulated prior to the meeting.

1. Moved Tom Phillips Seconded Gary Greening that the apologies be accepted - Carried
2. Moved Tom Phillips Seconded Bindi Gove that the minutes of the AGM held on the 21st December 2006 as circulated be confirmed. - Carried
3. Moved Tom Phillips, Seconded Bindi Gove that the President’s report be accepted as circulated. - Carried
4. Moved Les Moulds, Seconded Bindi Gove that the Secretary's reported be accepted as circulated. - Carried
5. Moved Gary Greening Seconded Bindi Gove that the Treasurer's report be accepted as circulated. - Carried
6. Moved Gary Greening, Seconded Bindi Gove that :- the membership fees for 2007- 2008 remain unchanged from 2006-07 year at:
Membership Establishment Fee $ 25.00 plus GST
Full Member $ 80.00 plus GST $8.00
Associate Member $ 60.00 plus GST
Student Member $ 25.00 plus GST with no establishment fee - Carried
7. Moved Gary Greening, seconded Bindi Gove that the Auditors Report be accepted as circulated - Carried
8. Moved Gary Greening, Seconded Bindi Gove that Kothes Chartered Accountants of Bega be retained as AITO’s auditors for the 2007-08 financial year - Carried
9. There was only one nomination for President - Moved Gary Greening, Seconded Jan Sommer that Tom Phillips be elected President - Carried
10. There was only one nomination for Secretary - Moved Tom Phillips Seconded Bindi Gove that Les Moulds be elected Secretary. - Carried
11. There was only one nomination for Treasurer - moved Tom Phillips, seconded Bindi Gove that Gary Greening be elected Treasurer. - Carried

Pay Scales – should AITO do a survey of its membership to determine pay rates and what should be the criteria for different rates?
This matter will be taken forward by Rod Caldicott with the help of some “volunteers”

MINUTES OF A.I.T.O. EXECUTIVE MEETING HELD WEDNESDAY 17TH MAY, 2006, HELD AT CAULFIELD RACECOURSE, COMMENCING AT 3.00PM.

ATTENDANCE: Tom Phillips (Chair), Gary Greening (Treasurer), Bob McAlister (VP Queensland), Les Moulds (Secretary).

APOLOGY: Matt McDonald, Ron MacKay.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME:
Programme has been circulated. Cost $720 + GST.. President Tom to speak to Lyndal Gray TNSW, regarding sponsorship. That all proposals as outlined regarding Professional Development be adopted.

MEMBERSHIP:
Bob McAlister to conduct Membership Drive in Queensland, Tom to forward information.

FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
Organisation is still in a very strong financial position.

WEB SITE:
Satisfaction with current contractor, doing an excellent job, being kept up to date and very easy to operate, request web contactor to change Home Page, fresh look with new photos etc.

NEWSLETTERS:
All happy with current situation, always vacancies with jobs on the go.

DIRECTORS INSURANCE:
Investigated. Decision not to proceed, based on advice that this organization does not offer advice to members or any matters. This to be confirmed at next AGM Meeting.
